As the season progresses, we expect the best pitchers to rise to the top of our ratings. Anything can happen over a short period of time, but the more starts that are included, the better the ratings reflect the best pitchers.
1) Paul Skenes (PIT) 98-97-99
Skenes had his second-best start of the season against the Dodgers in Los Angeles. His best start came at Tampa Bay in early April. Skenes allowed just five hits in 6 1/3 innings against the Dodgers. His nine strikeouts were his most in 2025.
2) Nathan Eovaldi (TEX) 96-98-97
Eovaldi faced a tough San Francisco team this past week and post a 72 Game Score. He allowed just three hits in six innings, walking one and striking out seven. His only better start came on April 1 at Cincinnati.
3) Garrett Crochet (BOS) 97-97-97
Unlike our top two starters, Crochet had his worst start of the season this week. He posted a 45 GS at home against Seattle. But one start doesn’t wipe out an entire season’s worth of starts.
4) Nick Pivetta (SD) 97-96-96
Two hits allowed in seven innings with six strikeouts was only good for the second best start for Pivetta this season. His 77 GS at Detroit fell just short of his 79 GS in his season opener at home against Atlanta.
5) Hunter Brown (HOU) 96-96-96
Brown hasn’t had a start with less than a 58 GS this year. His latest start was his best earning him an 81 GS. He allowed just two hits in seven innings at home against Toronto.
6) Andrew Heaney (PIT) 99-94-96
7) Logan Webb (SF) 95-95-95
8) Tyler Mahle (TEX) 95-94-95
9) Yoshinobu Yamamoto (LAD) 89-99-94
10) Logan Gilbert (SEA) 93-95-94
Top Rotations
1) Washington - Mitchell Parker (93), Jake Irvin (88) and MacKenzie Gore (87) are among the best in the league right now.
2) Texas - Nathan Eovaldi (97) and Tyler Mahle (95) lead the Rangers rotation.
3) N.Y. Mets - Kodai Senga (89) leads a Mets’ staff with a lower top rating than the top two teams, but the fifth best starter, Griffin Canning (67), keep the floor higher than most.
4) Detroit - Similar to the Mets, the Tigers have a lower top of their rotation, but their quality depth has them fourth in our rankings.
5) Houston - Hunter Brown (96) is among the best in the league. There is quite a drop after him, but the Astros still have four starters with over a 50 Game Score.
